Carpet flooring specialists in Fort Bend County
Footsteps Flooring installs carpet in homes across Katy, Richmond, Sugar Land, and the rest of Fort Bend County. We stock plush, textured, Berber loop, patterned, and pet-friendly fibers, and our in-house crew handles every step from old-carpet removal to the final stretch.
Most jobs start at $1.99 per sq ft installed. Because we buy directly from Shaw, Mohawk, Kraus, Tuftex, and Stainmaster, you get manufacturer pricing without a middleman markup.
Choosing the right carpet for a Gulf Coast home
The right carpet depends on how the room gets used - and, around here, on how it handles humidity. Bedrooms and living rooms can take a softer, plush fiber; stairs and hallways need a tight low-pile that resists crushing; ground-floor rooms and pet households do best on solution-dyed polyester or nylon that shrugs off moisture and stains.
- Nylon - most durable, best for high-traffic rooms
- Polyester (PET) - softest feel and stain-resistant, great for kids and pets
- Solution-dyed fibers - color runs through the fiber, so humidity and cleaning won't fade or bleach spots
- Berber loop - durable and budget-friendly (skip if you have cats)
- Patterned and textured cuts to hide footprints and vacuum marks

Carpet tile is the smart choice anywhere a single damaged section would normally mean ripping up an entire room. Squares snap into place, install in hours instead of days, and a stained or damaged tile pops out and gets replaced individually. The modular backing also handles moisture better than broadloom, which is exactly what we look for in Fort Bend County's humid climate.
Professional carpet installation
We install stretch-in broadloom over fresh 8-pound rebond pad, glue-down commercial carpet, carpet tiles, and stair runners. Every job includes power-stretching (not just a knee kicker), heat-bonded seams, and full removal/disposal of the old carpet. Most homes are finished in a single day.

Solution-dyed polyester or nylon with a stain-resistant treatment. The color goes all the way through the fiber, so bleach-cleaning a pet accident won't leave a light spot.
Almost always, yes. Padding compresses and absorbs moisture over the years, and reusing old pad voids most carpet warranties. We include fresh 8-pound rebond pad in every install.
Yes - we use a no-staple installation method that protects the wood underneath, so you can revert to bare hardwood in the future if you choose.
